Māori Cultural Capability Pathway

Supporting learners, Educational outcomes, Māori learner success, Cultural Capability Foundation and Bridging Education

Help your Māori learners achieve greater success by building your knowledge, confidence and cultural capability for Te ao Māori (the Māori world).

The Māori Cultural Capability Pathway comprises four interactive modules, designed to increase cultural awareness of Māori knowledge and values:

  • Ako (learning/teaching)
  • Manaakitanga (caring for each other)
  • Rangatiratanga (empowering students)
  • Whanaungatanga (relationships)

This online tool encourages educators to engage in deliberate acts of consideration, application, and reflection on some of the pedagogies for their own practice with Māori learners.
